Chwazi is already a great little app and the core idea still works really well. I did not want to reinvent it. I treated this as a personal redesign to see how the experience could feel on a more modern iPhone while keeping the original charm intact.

I refined the animations, added Liquid Glass details, introduced haptic feedback, improved how the interaction is explained, and added extras like shortcut support and a hidden secret mode. It started mainly as something fun to make for myself, but also as a way to learn by improving an app I have always liked. I may still release it.

The platform already has the rights and the streams, but the current experience does not use that flexibility very well. This concept lets users choose which live feeds matter most and combine them into a personal multiview setup for TVs. It is a more digital-first take on the existing switch channel logic, with more control for the viewer.

Been is an iOS concept that turns your photo library into a travel passport. Countries and cities are detected automatically, so tracking stays effortless.

Users can mark a country as visited or add it to a bucket list. The screen shows first visit, last visit, and total visits. Major cities are listed with clear visited indicators. A simple rating and notes section allows lightweight reflection without adding complexity.

I rebuilt the Haaglanden Hypotheek website in Framer, focusing on a calm, trustworthy layout and small, delightful interactions. The site is easy to maintain and ready for expansion. This is still a work in progress, with plans for new photography and more pages in the near future.

For this At Heart concept, I worked on a screen for performance reviews. The layout is built around one practical task: helping managers move through feedback in a clearer and more structured way.

I used sections, hierarchy and spacing to make the form easier to scan and complete, so the screen feels more focused and less heavy while filling in a review.

The identity defined the tone, but the website required structure and clarity. I translated the branding into a complete website design, defining layout, spacing and interaction patterns. Animated cloud elements support the brand without interfering with usability.

While testing iOS 18.2’s mail categories, I noted areas for improvement and shared them publicly. My suggestions included adding more fluid animations, indicators for hidden options and pressed states for buttons. In iOS 26 Apple implemented many of these changes, validating the feedback.

For Altruistiq, a sustainability data platform, I worked at Evers + de Gier on various digital touchpoints including the website, marketing assets, email templates, and animations.

I designed and built the marketing website in Webflow. The structure focuses on use cases, proof and clear explanation of complex functionality. CMS components were set up to keep the site scalable and easy to maintain.

Testing showed that smileys were too limited for expressing how someone felt, because they pushed users toward emotional labels that did not always match the question. I replaced that interaction with a battery-style check-in focused on tension or intensity instead. This gave users a more flexible way to answer and made the check-in feel clearer and more appropriate to the kind of reflection the app asks for.

Research showed that long, text-heavy lessons could feel overwhelming. I explored alternative ways to take in the same content, including audio and a clearer switch between reading and listening. The goal was to let users choose a format that felt lighter and easier to continue with in the moment.

This view brings the archive piece, the new work and the artist story together on one screen. I designed it so visitors can immediately compare old and new, then decide where they want to go deeper. The layout keeps that relationship visible without making the experience feel dense or overly museum-like.

For Bibliotheek Rotterdam, I built the ErfgoedStudio application in Framer as an exploratory touchscreen experience. The flow uses motion, feedback and a calm open canvas to invite visitors to browse without needing instructions. It was designed for a broad audience in a public setting, while still leaving room for deeper stories and archive context.

For Milo, I worked on a chatbot experience that helps visitors with product questions, choice support, symptom checks, and simple pet care facts. The assistant is connected to the webshop itself, so the answers are based on Milo’s own product information rather than generic chatbot output. For the Mamare cart, I worked on a layout that does more than list products and totals. It keeps the order summary, shipping threshold, checkout action and related suggestions visible in a way that still feels calm and easy to scan.

Parents often struggle to distinguish between critical updates and general information. I introduced a clear action-required state that changes both visual hierarchy and notification behaviour. Urgent messages are highlighted and surfaced differently, while regular updates remain accessible without creating overload. This reduces anxiety, improves trust, and makes the platform feel more controlled and predictable.

I designed a concept for iOS that reimagines the media player and AirPlay interface. It features a smooth transition that moves the media controls into a full-screen AirPlay view with more room for all your devices, including a new Personal Devices section listing your iPhone, iPad, AirPods and Mac. You can control any personal device from any other device and transfer music or video between them. Media Handoff suggests your current and recent playing sessions, labelled with the device you were listening on, so you can pick up where you left off. Active speakers are grouped together so you can easily swipe between them; album art expands and minimises smoothly within the player, shrinking when notifications appear or when you open Notification Center, and notifications never overlap the art.

The current AirPlay menu animation feels abrupt and visually disconnected from what is happening. This concept explores a smoother, more spatial transition that better communicates the shift between devices and playback context. By making the animation feel more continuous and intentional, AirPlay becomes easier to understand at a glance and feels more aligned with the rest of the system’s motion language.

This concept explores a quick share flow in Messages that lets you send the same content to multiple people individually, without automatically creating a group conversation. It keeps one-to-one chats intact, reduces clutter in the conversation list, and better matches casual sharing behavior like sending a link or photo to a few people at once.

This concept explored a lighter confirmation pop-up that doesn’t take over the entire screen. At the time, system confirmations often blocked the full interface and disrupted flow. Since then, this approach has largely been adopted through the Dynamic Island, where confirmations feel more contextual and far less intrusive.

The current live cards show too little before opening a stream. Most of the time you only see a thumbnail, title and channel, which makes it harder to compare events at a glance. This concept introduces a more useful card system where each sport shows the context that actually helps you choose. Football shows the score and minute, tennis shows the set score, and racing shows lap progress. The goal was to make live content easier to scan without turning every card into a wall of information.

I added a dedicated setup flow for favourites so the app can become more personal from the start. Instead of showing the same content to everyone, the experience can adapt to what each user actually watches. Following Ajax, the Champions League or Formula 1 should directly influence the home screen, recommendations and live priorities.

The app scans the photo library and extracts location data to detect visited countries and cities. A progress indicator shows scan status and newly found places in real time. No manual input is required, reducing friction and keeping travel data accurate.

The original product rows were too generic, which made them less useful and sometimes clearly irrelevant to the customer’s pet. I redesigned this into a personalised recommendation component that takes pet data into account, so the products shown feel more appropriate to the animal’s type, size and situation. This made the experience feel more helpful and reduced the friction of having to search through products that were never a good fit in the first place.

The previous setup gave us too little flexibility and did not support the kind of personalised guidance we wanted during checkout. I designed and built a custom cart drawer that gave us more control over what appears, when it appears and how it works across devices, especially on mobile. This made it possible to bring useful features like discount visibility and tailored add-on suggestions into the cart earlier, so the cart became a clearer and more supportive step instead of just a technical stop before checkout.

For At Heart, I worked on a loading state that appears before the dashboard is ready. Instead of dropping users onto a blank or static screen, it uses brand shapes and motion to make the wait feel calmer and more deliberate.

It is a small moment in the product, but it helps the handoff into the dashboard feel smoother and more in line with the rest of the experience.

The brand needed social assets that felt lightweight but distinct. I designed and animated social concepts using the cloud illustrations as the core visual layer. The motion reinforces tone and recognisability while keeping hierarchy clear.

I redesigned the AutoFill pop‑up in iOS to make form filling clearer and more flexible. The new interface displays each detail, name, phone, email and address, with an icon and label, so you instantly know what’s being used. A new “Use different details” option lets you choose from personal and work numbers, select between multiple emails (including Hide My Email), and pick the right address or even select another contact, so the right information always goes into the form.

The original home screen gave too little direction after onboarding and made limited use of what users had already selected or completed. I expanded it into a more useful overview with clearer next steps, ongoing modules and suggestions based on recent input. That made the app feel more supportive and action-oriented instead of leaving users to figure out what to do next.

When messaging across languages, translation in Messages felt fragmented and manual. I shared the idea that entire conversations should translate automatically within the thread, so users can follow context without constantly triggering actions. This approach was later reflected in iOS 26, where Apple introduced more seamless conversation-level translation.

For Mamare, I designed a custom checkout flow that breaks the process into separate steps. Each section opens in sequence, so users can focus on the task they are doing while still seeing the rest of the flow.

The goal was to make checkout feel clearer and easier to move through than one long page with everything open at once.

Mamare wanted to offer a donation option in the cart as an alternative to adding another product to reach the free shipping threshold. My role was to work out how that should appear in the flow and how to make it feel clear and logical inside the cart.

I treated it as a separate choice with its own explanation and confirmation, so it would not feel like a hidden add-on or a confusing product interaction.

I explored a concept where contact information can be shared per list, such as family or work. Users decide which fields are shared automatically and which require confirmation, including contact photo and poster. This makes contact sharing more intentional and reduces the need to manage details per person.

This video walks through the complete prototype of the communication platform, from content creation to consumption. It shows how teachers create posts, how messages are structured and bundled, and how parents interact with updates, agenda items, and action-required posts. This concept explored replacing numeric verification codes with a Face ID confirmation on a trusted device when signing in elsewhere. Instead of copying numbers, you simply approve the sign-in with your face. What started as a conceptual idea is now effectively how passkeys work today. Device-based authentication using biometrics reduces friction while increasing security. It’s a good example of how a platform-level UX idea can evolve into a real, system-wide solution.

I think navigating between sections in Apple Music takes too many steps. I added shortcut buttons above pages so you can quickly jump to related sections, like albums, playlists or the artist page, without going back. This keeps navigation lightweight and makes exploring content faster.

When Apple Music Replay first launched, it lived outside the app and required signing in via the browser to view your stats. This concept explored making Replay a native part of the Apple Music app itself. Since then, Replay has been integrated directly into the app, making listening insights easier to access and more consistent with the rest of the experience.

I think live sports should be easier to control across devices. This concept uses the phone as a second screen to manage multiview, switch between selected matches and keep live context close without cluttering the TV view. It makes the experience feel more connected and more useful on nights with several simultaneous events.

I think the current app still behaves too much like a channel browser. This concept turns the home screen into a more relevant starting point based on followed teams, competitions and live moments. If a match you care about is live, it becomes the main entry point. If not, the screen shifts toward the most relevant fixtures, clips and highlights for that moment of the day.

Visited countries are filled on the map, while unvisited countries remain neutral. This makes overall coverage visible in seconds. Pins highlight specific locations within countries for additional context. The map acts as both a progress overview and an entry point to country detail pages.

To make the experience genuinely personal, I designed a quiz that lets customers add key details about their pet, such as age, breed, weight and allergies. Rather than treating this as a one-off interaction, I used it as the foundation for more relevant recommendations, clearer product guidance and a more tailored experience across the shop. This helps reduce choice stress in a category where suitability matters and makes the platform feel more considered from the start.

For Haaglanden Hypotheek, I designed and built a clear and trustworthy website focused on helping visitors get in touch or schedule an appointment. The goal was to reduce friction and support people in taking the first step in a complex decision-making process.

I explored how the AI-generated clouds could be used to animate the app icon in a subtle way. The heart mark is revealed and supported through soft cloud motion, staying consistent with the overall illustration system. The animation connects brand, icon and motion into one recognisable app-level gesture.

We needed a recognisable illustration style that could express warmth without becoming decorative. I explored different AI workflows to generate cloud-based visuals and refined them into a consistent system. This animation shows the full set as a structured sequence, including the supporting icon style.

The original campaign headers relied too heavily on static visuals, which made them hard to manage consistently across different screen sizes. I designed and built a coded card system that keeps layouts responsive, structured and visually balanced, while still allowing teams to adjust content, labels, logos and imagery themselves. This reduced inconsistency and gave non-designers more freedom, without risking headers that felt broken, cramped or poorly considered on mobile.

Some lesson screens contained too much information at once, which made them harder to process on mobile. I reworked these flows into shorter steps with visible progress, so users could move through content piece by piece instead of facing a full wall of text. This made lessons feel more manageable without removing the depth of the content.

This screen focuses on the historical work while still keeping the connection to the new piece visible. I designed the layout so the archive image gets the main stage, with supporting context and the related contemporary work placed around it in a calm and readable way. That makes it easier to understand both the original work and why it was chosen as inspiration.

For Bibliotheek Rotterdam, I worked at Evers + de Gier on the ErfgoedStudio, a digital platform that makes the Atlas van Stolk collection accessible and relevant for a broad audience. My role focused on building and bringing the interactive experience to life.

When a song has multiple artists, Now Playing only links to the primary artist, while featured or collaborating artists are not tappable. I’d allow each artist name to be individually selectable, leading directly to their artist page. This makes collaboration credits functional, improves music discovery, and better reflects how modern tracks are actually created and consumed.

I worked on the Leeslab project at Evers + de Gier. The brand identity was developed by my colleagues, with my support during the process. I was responsible for designing and building the website, including all interactions and animations.

I designed this page as a single place for support around the webshop. It brings together direct contact options like WhatsApp, phone and email, alongside practical actions such as checking an order, returning something or finding payment information.

That makes it easier to find help quickly, whether someone wants to contact Mamare right away or first solve something on their own.

I designed a custom add-to-cart confirmation for Mamare so the result of the action is more visible than a small default cart update. It confirms that the product was added and gives users a direct link to continue to the cart.

It is a small interaction, but it helps make the shopping flow feel clearer and more deliberate.

I explored how to unify media controls across Apple’s ecosystem. This concept lets you pick up where you left off on any device and effortlessly transfer media between them. You can control speakers, TVs and other devices from one interface, making it easy to keep your music and video playing seamlessly across your devices.

School communication was centered around a weekly Word newsletter that parents barely read. I redesigned it as a structured home feed where news, agenda items, and urgent updates live in one continuous stream. Posts can require action, include calendar blocks, or allow direct interaction such as responding or signing up. This shifts communication from a static document to an ongoing, actionable product experience.

For the ZelfCoach App at Evers + de Gier, I worked on the UX and UI of a digital product focused on emotional wellbeing. The app combines reflection, content and behaviour change, with the challenge of turning complex psychological concepts into an experience that feels clear, supportive and usable in everyday life.

I designed an Apple Music artist page concept that gives artists more control over their branding. In addition to a cover photo, this design lets artists upload their logo alongside album art and photos. I shared the concept on Reddit, and while Apple has since added full‑screen artwork and other branding options, the ability to add a logo is still missing. I believe it would make artist pages more recognizable and personal.

This concept explores how the iOS 16 Lock Screen media player could better support everyday listening. It focuses on clearer hierarchy, more useful controls at a glance, and reducing visual noise while keeping quick access to what matters during playback. The goal is not a visual redesign for its own sake, but a more intentional and functional media experience that fits how people actually use the Lock Screen.

I redesigned the Now Playing bar to fade smoothly into the UI instead of sitting as a hard edge on top of content. The idea was to make playback feel lighter and more integrated with the app. This concept closely matches how the Now Playing bar later evolved, especially in iOS 18. It’s genuinely nice to see a concept you designed end up being almost fully reflected in iOS.

This concept explores allowing users to create their own playlist covers directly in Apple Music, including subtle animations. The idea is to make playlists feel more personal and expressive without breaking the app’s visual consistency.

This idea eventually led to the creation of an app called Denim, a dedicated playlist cover maker that brings this concept to life in a polished and thoughtful way.
